Our good friend and associate artist Kieran Hurley recently performed his show Hitch at The Forest Fringe, Edinburgh Festival. Crowds of people turned out each night to see this fantastic show. Even the critics seemed to love it. Look out for this show when it goes on tour. It's certainly worth seeing!

The show was developed with the artistic support of PLaY, and sees Kieran recount his journey across Europe to the G8 Summit protests in an intimate and uplifting one-man show, with live music from Over the Wall.

PLaY will be performing its experimental sound and performance installation Time Dilation at The Arches in Glasgow on 12 and 13 November. Tickets will be on sale soon - we'll post the Box Office number here as soon as they're available. Read more at the show page here.

Starting in September, we'll be working with a group of young people from Leeds City Council's Breeze project. Working together over the course of six weeks, the group will create an original piece of work for the annual Light Night event, as well as learning arts management skills and studying for an Arts Award. The project is aimed at people not currently in education, employment or training, with the hope that they will gain skills that will help them get into a career in the arts.

You'll be able to see the work they create at Leeds Town Hall on Light Night, which takes place on Friday 8 October. See www.lightnightleeds.co.uk for more details.

Education work is a really important part of what PLaY does - it's more than just an "add-on" extra to our shows. We've been working with some great young people as part of our workshop programme, including a recycled bin and eco-music workshop for the Playful City project for First Floor at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Jamie has also been leading drumming and music-making sessions with children staying at Leeds General Infirmary and will be making a return visit later in the month.

You can hear some of the work created by young people during our workshops by visiting our AudioBoo site.

Dick will also be making a trip to the Greenbelt Festival to lead a Directing Performance workshop in Saturday 28 July. Find out more about the festival at www.greenbelt.org.uk.
